Casey Dean
- Percussion
Casey grew up moving around due to his father’s military career. At the age of 8 he saw a live band play at his swim team’s spaghetti dinner. He asked the band to play “Smoke on the Water” and then stood behind the drummer for the rest of the night mesmerized. The drummer gave him a pair of sticks to keep, and from then on Casey claimed that he was going to be a drummer when he grew up.. Being how “life gets in the way”, Casey didn’t actually join his first band until he was 26 - a blues outfit, “The Barons”, that has being been playing together since 1958. Those guys taught him the importance of time, groove, and feel, as opposed to what Casey refers to as being a “drummer jock”. Since then Casey has played in bands in Pennsylvania and Florida. In Western North Carolina, Casey has played with Peggy Ratusz and Daddy Long Legs.
